Biography

Stephanie Dawn, ALSP, is a licensed spiritual counselor and life coach in Venice Beach, California. Her license and training is from the Agape International Spiritual Center – a powerful trans-denominational spiritual community founded by Rev. Dr. Michael Beckwith, well known for his appearances in THE SECRET and on OPRAH. She has been a student of Michael Beckwith’s since 1994.  

Stephanie has been in private practice since 2001. She teaches workshops and leads prayer circles throughout California, most recently via the Sacred Birth Workshop and Sacred Birth Circles, which she facilitates in Los Angeles and New York, with plans to take the workshop to San Francisco and Seattle in 2008.

Sacred Birth Work, originally developed while she was pregnant with her first son, Jasper, merges her work as a spiritual counselor with that of the realm of birth, allowing pregnant women and couples to coalesce their spirituality and personal empowerment with pregnancy and birth, as they go through this most sacred of transformations, becoming parents. She is currently writing her first book of the same topic, “Sacred Birth – A Spiritual Handbook to Expand, Enhance and Enjoy your Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond”.

Also an artist, Stephanie has served for the past five years as the Director of the Ministry of Art and Beauty at Agape, acting as curator for hundreds of works of art that beautify the sanctuary and hallways of the center year round. A California resident since 1991, Stephanie has created art since her early days at Montessori preschool in Vancouver, British Columbia, where she is originally from. After many years performing as an actress in Vancouver, Stephanie moved to Santa Cruz, California and met and fell in love with an organic farmer. While together, Stephanie learned a great deal about growing and selling organic food, and realized the benefits of living a holistic life. It was during this time that her practice of the healing arts truly began, with the study of yoga, massage and aromatherapy as her foundation.

Stephanie moved to Los Angeles in 1993 and began attending Agape upon arrival. After the death of a dear friend, Stephanie began to deepen her spiritual studies through the course work at Agape. At the same time, she began studying oil painting, which provided a rich and fulfilling symbiotic journey that continues to this day. After a year of living in LA, Stephanie began working with environmental organizations, most notably, Forest Action Network (based out of Canada) and Rainforest Action Network, to help protect the rainforests of her native home and those around the world. Over the years she has worked with Greenpeace, NRDC and Amazon Watch. She also managed a large retail store that sold beautiful organic cotton and hemp clothing. Her professional background includes work in the entertainment industry with Fox Searchlight Pictures in PR and Finance, and project management and research for the British PR guru, Lynne Franks' bestseller "The Seed Handbook - The Feminine Way to Create Business”.

Stephanie is dedicated to the transformation of human life on earth, via her counseling, writing, workshops and raising her family. She is committed to excellence, fulfillment, grace and beauty. Stephanie anchors the awareness that we are co-creators with Spirit as we consciously manifest heaven on Earth for ourselves, our families, our community, and the world. Stephanie lives in Venice Beach with her husband, actor and vocal performer, Jon Eric Preston, and their two sons, Jasper, 3 , and Zephyr, 1 year, along with their cat, Fauve.
